As a Berkshire wedding photographer whilst I cover weddings all around the UK and love the opportunity to go far and wide, its always nice when I cover a wedding on Berkshire home turf.
For wedding photography Wokefield Park in Berkshire provides a plethora of backdrops from old to new. As a wedding venue it caters for all tastes, when you first step into the entrance hall of the mansion house you are transported back to the 18th century with the grand staircase and beautiful architecture. Walk through the corridor however and you are transported back to the modern decor of a Deveer venue, large clocks and steel staircases.
I was thrilled to cover Alan & Nicola’s summer wedding there earlier this year. Nicola wore a beautiful dress with sleeves which, since Kate Middleton wearing sleeves for her Royal wedding, is very on trend. I must point out Nicola had picked her sleeved dress long before the Royal Wedding!
They had decided to hold their wedding ceremony and reception at Wokefield Park, originally they where to have their ceremony in the old mansion house but since numbers increased they moved to the modern side of the building. Which I didn’t mind in the least because their ceremony room was bathed in light from the floor to ceiling windows.
The weather was even kind to us so we made it outside to the grounds for the all important intimate portraits of the bride and groom. Wokefield is great because you can head down to the lake and get some fantastic shots with the house in the background. I was thrilled on our way back up to the house to spot a disused summer house, to get some more fun shots of the two of them.
They entertained there guests at the reception with a magician and caricaturist which made for some fantastic shots, I’m still trying to figure out how the magician does it.
